Misset Horeca: "FlexTable: increase revenue with a smart table base"

  • 3 min read

The hospitality world revolves around adaptability, and father and son Ivo and Luc Breukers understand this all too well. After the recent acquisition of FlexTable, they have improved the base at crucial points, making the product now function optimally. The result is a further developed design that tackles the traditional challenges in the hospitality industry.

A unique design with great benefits

The FlexTable distinguishes itself by a unique combination of properties that cannot be found anywhere else. The patented Dutch design makes it possible to use one table in different ways, which directly contributes to efficiency and revenue increase.

'We immediately saw the potential,' says Ivo Breukers.'It is the only base that combines all important features: stable on any surface - from cobblestones to pebbles - continuously adjustable in height, and always a horizontal tabletop, even on a slope of 15 degrees.'

The advantages of the table with four independent legs are numerous. A hospitality entrepreneur in Nijmegen was able to expand his terrace with twelve tables by placing them on stairs - this was previously impossible. In Venlo, an entrepreneur sets his tables at standing height during busy times, thereby doubling the capacity.

Restaurant Steven in Nijmegen managed to expand the terrace with twelve tables by placing them on stairs.

From lunch to drinks in just a few seconds

The flexibility goes beyond just stability.'You can switch from lunch to drinks, or from dinner to party café in seconds,' explains Luc Breukers. 'No more dragging around different tables, no need for storage for extra furniture, and your staff no longer have to crawl under tables with coasters.'

An unexpected but important advantage is the accessibility for disabled guests. 'In Gennep, we have a coffee house where a regular guest in a wheelchair comes every day,' Breukers says. 'The staff already know exactly how to set the table so that he can comfortably join with his wheelchair.'

Sustainable and socially responsible

The continuously adjustable height makes it possible to perfectly adjust the table to everyone's needs. This socially responsible aspect is also recognized by grant providers - a community center recently received a grant because of the accessible features of the FlexTable. For hospitality entrepreneurs, this not only offers practical advantages, but also opportunities in the field of inclusivity and possible financial support for the purchase.

Dutch production, international ambitions

The FlexTable is assembled in the Netherlands at the social workshop 'Den Haag Werkt', where quality control also takes place. The base is suitable for different tabletop sizes and can be used with existing tabletops. Efficient production and logistics keep the price competitive, while the functionality surpasses that of traditional tables.

After a successful introduction at the BBB fair in Maastricht, FlexTable is now rapidly expanding. The first hundred tables have already been shipped to Italy, and there are even orders from Dubai. 'We are not only targeting hospitality entrepreneurs,' says Ivo, 'but also interior project agencies that provide complete hospitality furnishings.'

For hospitality entrepreneurs, the FlexTable primarily means one thing: more possibilities with less hassle. Whether it's about an efficient terrace, a multifunctional party venue, or an accessible restaurant - with one type of table, you can handle all scenarios.
